What I've Been Up To This Past Month

January 10, 2018 Maggie Niemiec

Excuse my lapse in blogging this past month. There's a good reason for it, I promise:

We're getting married! [Insert all the heart-eyes emojis here.]

I'll be sharing some of our story on the blog in the coming months, but for now, I would covet your prayers for our engagement and marriage. My biggest prayer request is that we would keep our eyes fixed on the Lord and that He would prepare our hearts to come together in this amazing covenant.

I'd also love to hear what you're interested in reading from me during this season. Singleness and dating? What engagement looks like in light of Jesus? How I'm not dieting before the wedding? Share with me in the comments below or shoot me an email here!

Happy Easter! He is risen!
Six months ago, I had the honor of sharing my story on the Long Hollow Stories Podcast. Doing a 45-minute interview while being recorded? Gulp. But, friends, God is so faithful. He's authored my story in this unique way so that I would come to know Himβ€”and then share Him with other people! Because yes, I worked at a church and yes, I love talking about Jesus... But that's not how I always was. My story is messy. It's full of brokenness, pain, and deep hurt. I felt intense guilt and shame for a long time. Yet God still loved me. He died on the cross and rose again for ME, in all my brokenness. He took on the death that I deserve. Our sin nailed him to that crossβ€”yet He broke the power of sin and extends His great love to us! He bought us with a price and paid that debt that we never could. That's what we celebrate this Easter. That is what He did for YOU. Do you believe it? // Click the link in my profile to download the full podcast.
What does fear hold you back from? .
.

Fear holds me back from writing my blog. Fear cripples me and tells me I’m not enough. As Tim Keller says, β€œTo be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear.” In the world of followers and likes and instant gratification, I’m sure you can relate.

God fully knows us and fully loves us. There is no place for fear in His perfect love. (1 John 4:18) When we recognize we are fully known and loved in Christ, we can let go of our desire for more followers and more likes. You can surrender your prayer for a husband. You can loosen your grip on your career and your finances. You can quit playing the comparison game and rest easy in the arms of a Father who loves you more than you can imagine. More on the blog today. [link in profile]
Happy as a clam 😍 He’s my favorite. #getzmetothealtar
